Harris- from The Post

Doodles by Chris.

No two people in this world see the lights and darks and grays the exact same. Any one uniform scene in this world is seen by the naked eye, and shortly after sent to the heart for mystic input and abstract feelings that could turn the sight of an old man on a bench into a complete obituary-style story entailing that man's rise and fall in life- all leading up in culmination to this great final scene on a bench. A man's heart has never been objective, and from that the old adage stems: Perception is reality. People wish to seek enlightenment. People demand answers, and all-too-often, as some sort of 'truth' becomes realized, it's crushed under the weight of human insecurity. I think what I'm getting at, is that although it's in our nature to search, the wise do this quietly. Those who share similar perceptions become our friends and act as the control in the experiment. We all hold strings tied to each other, holding our outward self on the ground, but not the inner. Dreams should live and die in the sky- ideas need to be lofty, for what other way is there to push forward into progression?

In skateboarding as in life, there is a technique to fufillment. To the thinkers go the spoils. Do not get caught up in what you are thinking, but rather how.

A Little Q & A

Every once and a while, important figures in the general public grant us exclusive interviews. In the past, local celebrities such as Ryan and Drew (DJs Skrill Trout and Mudflap) have revealed their deepest secrets on this site.

Today, we add another notch to the ol' interview belt, with a Montanan who recently turned Floridian, Ashleigh, seen here in this file photo.

40666: Name 3 skateboard Tricks?
Ashleigh: Ok, ok. Well you have the traditional ollie. Then, of course, a kick flip, and my specialty, the push and skate
40666: Absolutely perfect. Next, finish this sentence... [blank] makes for a good sandwich.
Ashleigh: Wonderbread
40666: Wonderful. Now for some either/or's... Fleetwood Mac or Cadillac Fleetwoods?
Ashleigh: Fleetwood Mac, hands down.
40666: Ham or bacon?
Ashleigh: Ham
40666: 40 oz or cheap wine?
Ashleigh: Cheap wine, also a no-brainer. That's a nightly choice for me.
40666: Don Rickles or Rip Taylor?
Ashleigh: They are unfamiliar to me, so I can't answer fairly.
40666: Good deal. Would you bite your own arm off if it were caught in a bear trap?
Ashleigh: No. Whenever I watch a horror movie where someone is on the edge of death I always say "If that was me, I would just give up and die." Gruesome, yes, but it's just too much. That seems comparable to a bear trap.
40666: No arguments here... Say, I have trouble waking up in the morning, what's the best song to wake up to?
Ashleigh: Hmmm...That's a tough one. Let me think.... Good Day by Tally Hall.
40666: Never heard it, but I'm sure it's a gem. Well, Ashleigh, it's been an absolute delight. Any final thoughts for our avid readers?
Ashleigh: At the moment, I'm eating alligator tail... since I'm in the South, y'all know.

Photobucket

40666: Looks good, and thanks for the visual aid.
Ashleigh: Thanks!
40666: No, thank you.

And there you have it, folks. An intimate look into the life of a fellow Four-Oh-Six-Six-Sixer. Now, I leave you with something to hear with your ears.

A new take on an old favorite.

Today, we look back on some special moments and special people throughout the past.

First, a major motion picture featuring the debut of three budding young actors.

The Unfavorable Fall of Shannon Bartleby

Wow. A compelling storyline, edge-of-your-seat action, and such articulate dialogue. Truly a classic film.

Let's go back in time. Way, way back to the middle 00's.

These were the days of...

Osiris D3's (extra chunky)

The 2004 Daewoo Tacuma

It was a simpler time... Here's some other things to look at.

Well now those teen hearthrobs have grown and have somehow found something to do. Years come and go, the young grow old, and the old grow saggy. If there's anything we can count on, it's that Osiris will continue to put out quality footwear the world over.

Special update later today...

Tuesday's Tunes

While we're still on that Mad Decent tip, check out another Major Lazer mix with Andy Milonakis. It's called "Zumbie" and the shit's bangin'.

And in case you were wondering what they bump in Israel, check out USA 808. Not on Mad Decent, but it hits hard with some good speakers.

Summer's almost here in grand ol' Montana, and in many other places, such as Texas, it never ends. Wherever you are, skateboarding season is in full swing. Keep them wheels-a-rollin', and check back here for some old fashioned 40666 board trickery, as well as some tips on how and where to skate if you ever find yourself in the city with a soft blue sheen, Dallas, Texas.

Until next time...
